Films entered in the Short competition must be works of fiction with a running time of under 45 minutes. This category includes live action and animated films. All entries are prescreened for acceptance into the festival. The winner in this category will receive $100 and a statuette.
 
The Documentary category is divided into two divisions: Feature and Short. Films entered in the Documentary category must be works of non-fiction.
• Feature – 45 minutes or longer

60-Second Challenge
Films entered in the 60-Second Challenge must run 60 seconds in length and honor the theme selected by the Iris Film Festival committee. The 2011 theme: Zombie.
 
To enter the Iris Film Festival’s competitions, you must be a Pennsylvania resident or a student attending a college or university in the state. All films are pre-screened for acceptance into the festival competition. Winners are decided during the festival by a panel of judges. The Iris Film Festival reserves the right to cancel competitions based on number of submissions received in a particular category. Those submissions will be placed in the next most appropriate category.
